Sarah Anderson is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in London. Having studied violin and viola under Richard Crabtree and graduating with a music degree from LIPA, her work has ranged from band and ensemble member to arranger and theatre composer, with strings often being at the forefront of what she creates.

She co-founded and directed the arts collective Circumstance from 2010 – 2017 with long-term collaborator Duncan Speakman and artist Emilie Grenier, later joined by Tom Abba. With this group of artists she made experiential sonic works for public & private spaces around the world - from train stations in Japan, to urban spaces in São Paulo. These collaborations continue to happen, but under their own names.

After a lifetime of collaborations and a recent break to start a family, Sarah is increasingly focussed on her solo work whilst continuing to forge collaborative connections with a community of diverse creative women based in East London.
